Walking 'Round with Stinky Under (my) Arm

     In case you have been wondering where I have been lately, we have been very busy here at Homeland Farm. Here is a small ditty to explain what I have been doing lately.

      Walking "Round with Stinky Under (my) Arm"
Sing to the tune of Walking in a Winter Wonderland, Please..

       We have an old cat,
        his name is Stinky
        he has a big sore,
        the size of my pinkie
        we thought he would die,
        and even started to cry,
        Walking 'Round with Stinky Under (my)Arm

         He started to ooze,
         from under his tail,
         I tried to blot,
         but to no avail
         off to the vet,
         big money, you bet,
         Walking 'Round with Stinky Under (my) Arm

          The Vet said you can save him if you want to,
           I said well, it is almost Christmas Eve,
           She said all you need is lots of patience,
           and a bit of doctoring- roll up your sleeves

           So here I sit,
           holding Stinky,
           hot, wet paper towel,
           pressed to his winkie,
           Pass me my beer,
           I need some holiday Cheer,
           Walking 'Round with Stinky Under (my) ARM!!!

A REAL HOUSE WIFE OF BRIDGTON MAINE     I don't usually watch much television, but lately have found myself flipping through the channels for a couple hours before bed. I can not say I am a fan of any of the "Real Housewives of BLANK", but have seen enough of a few of them to know one thing...Their lives are not very real. Granny Nightgowns..NOT just for sleeping.

Baking (and sampling) can also be done in a granny..      I love my granny nightgowns. I am sure there are lots of people that do. Mine are a lot more then nightwear however. They serve several purposes for me. They are casual wear, lounge wear, even business wear. They are mostly plaid, and when they are all clean and stacked up on my shelf where I keep them, they look like a "Gathering of the Clans" in Scotland. I do have a few flowered models, as well . I also have a wide variety to choose from. I have some that are floor length, mid calf, and some knee length. All, very sexy.       I can usually be found in a granny nightie from 7pm until 10-11 am, and perhaps on a Sunday, all day. I think I inherited my love of flannel from my Aunt Dorothea. She could often be found running the vacuum around in the afternoon, still granny clad. I know I didn't inherit it from my mother, who, A) doesn't wear granny nighties, and B) cringes every time she hears of someone new

The Blessing

          This is a very different blog today, as I share something that happened to me this past Sunday. It is something I still am trying to wrap my mind around, so please bear with me as I try to find just the right words. It was amazing, moving, wonderful, and awe inspiring all at the same time, and to be honest, I am still in the process of understanding it. Here is my best description, as I recall it.   Early morning cleaning and mowing..My grandparents stone in the back corner            Sunday was a warm, partly sunny day, and drier then it has been, so I decided to mow the lawns. My mother's mower was in the shop, so I decided to start in the family cemetery..Homeland Cemetery, located in the back of our hay field. I rode over on the mower, and started mowing, saying hello to all the relatives that are buried there.
